Humidification Made Simple:

What is a resistance steam humidifier?

A resistance steam humidifier is an isothermal humidifier which works according to the immersion heater principle.

The steam used for humidification is generated in a stainless steel cylinder (which is lined with reusable plastic film to protect it from hardener accumulation). Electrical heating rods generate the heat required to produce the steam. Since this technique uses resistance elements (i.e. the heating rods), the process does not depend on the conductivity of the available water, and can be run using either drinking water or de-ionized water. Another advantage of this technique is that the steam output has infinitely variable control, from 0 to 100%.

Steam Humidifier Operation Using Resistance Heating
The water used for humidification flows from below over the magnetic inlet valve and filling cup and into the stainless steel steam cylinder. A level control ensures the water in the steam cylinder is maintained at an even level. The generated steam flows over the hose connection and into the steam distributor. The condensate which accumulates in the ventilation unit is drawn off using a condensate hose.
